Andy Melville admits that West Ham deserved to get beaten on
Saturday at Sunderland.
Andy, who started the game in the continued absence of Hayden Mullins, for whom Tomas Repka once again deputised at right back, says:
"It is a big game on Wednesday now but we weren't at the races on Saturday, to be honest.
"We knew it was going to be difficult but we were second best too many times over the pitch.
"We have to learn a hard lesson and we have to be meaner all over the field - it just was not good enough.
"It is about hard work at the end of the day.
"We know the ability is in the changing room but we need to work harder - each and every one of us.
"If we can add that to our game we will go from strength to strength."
