Match Report - West Ham U19 V Wimbledon U19 - 06 Mar 2004

Both the U17s and the U19s won against London opposition on Saturday - to help overcome the disappointment of last week's FA Youth cup exit.

"I am pleased with the response because obviously we were all down in the dumps after the FA Youth cup defeat," says Tony Carr.

"It was important to lift the spirits on Friday and bounce back."

The U17s beat Watford 2-0 with goals from Tony Stokes on 70 minutes and Mark Noble on 75 minutes.

Says Kevin Keen:

"I was pleased with the win and pleased with Joe Widdowson, a 15 year old left back who did very well in his first appearance."

Says Tony of the U19s' 1-0 win over Wimbledon:

"The commitment and application was first class."

Sos Yao scored West Ham's goal on the half hour.
