Belgium Champions at Upton Park for OPD Cup - Our "curtain raiser" to the new season is Saturday 31st July, at 3pm.
Belgium champions, Anderlecht, are looking towards Upton Park to win their first trophy of the season - The Out Performance Display Cup.
This important fixture now enters its third season, and Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven are current holders after beating West Ham 2-1 last season.
David James was our captain when we lifted the trophy in 2002, after beating Vitesse Arnhem 1-0.
The visit by Anderlecht will be a real test for the Hammers a week before the new Coca-Cola Football League Championship starts, as the Belgium team plan their campaign in the Champions League this season.
West Ham will have to create some of the flair in our attack which was not always consistent last season, as they will be facing a defence which only conceded 26 goals in 34 Belgium league fixtures.
OPD company principle, Philip Cooper, has become a regular visitor to Upton Park for many years, and is an executive box holder for the third consecutive season.
"We are delighted to continue our partnership with West Ham United, and wish the manager, team, and all the staff the very best wishes for the season ahead" Mr. Cooper said.
