Scandanavian Hammers

Members of the Scandinavian Hammers are excited at the prospect of the Club's return to Sweden for a three-match tour next month as part of their preparations for the new season.

Hammers played pre-season games against Atvidabergs and Djurgardens last summer and Swedish-based supporters will get the chance to see their favourites in action against Umea on Tuesday 13th July, Solleftea on Thursday 15th July and v Ornskoldsvik on Monday 19th July.

All three matches take place in the East of Sweden. Scandinavian Hammers was formed in 1988 and is growing all the time.

They now have over 400 members, a little more than 300 of them Norwegian, around 45 from Sweden, and some others from Denmark and Finland.

Their main activities are:  Producing a Fanzine "SCANDINAVIAN BUBBLES" every second month, with news, statistics, interviews and other information.

Running their website www.westham.no with much of the same as the fanzine, but more up to date, and more "chatting" between members.

Supporters Club trips. For the last five Easter Holidays around 30 members have travelled to the Boleyn Ground to see games, visit the training ground and meet the manager and players.

Helping members who travel on their own with ticket information, hotels and other info.

Arranging social events like soccer tournaments when 30-40 members play in the West Ham United strip against other supporters' clubs.

After the tournament all the members enjoy a beer, or two, and talk about the Hammers. Last weekend they all met up in different pubs all over Scandinavia to see the Play-Off Final.
