"It is going to be a strange one; obviously I hope Fulham can get through their tie and it would be nice to go back there and play," says Jon, currently on a month's loan from the Cottagers.
"I am not quite sure what the situation is but it is definitely going to be a big game."
If he is still on loan when the tie comes around, he will not, under FA rules, be eligible to play against Fulham, whereas if he has signed permanently, he will.
If Everton beat Fulham, however, it is academic.
"I really haven't got a clue but the way things are going at the moment I couldn't ask for anything more," he says.
"But as for whether anything permanent happens, I am not sure."
Jon reveals, however, that a fee would not be a stumbling block, and adds:
"Fulham have definitely said I can go on a free and whilst I am playing at West Ham I am playing for my future, whether it be here or somewhere else - but I am hoping something will happen.
"Maybe, going back to Loftus Road in the replay, Fulham are favourites, but in the cup anything can happen; it is just a one-off game and teams can just be up for it on the day."
Talking of the tension of the draw, and West Ham coming out last, he says:
"All the boys were in the canteen at training watching it so everyone saw it.
"I kept saying to everyone 'I bet we get Fulham at home' though I know it is not quite there yet because they have to beat Everton."
So he nearly got it right...
"I was saying to someone afterwards it would have been better if we had a home draw but looking at form I think it is better to be away.
"But it is a one-off, the FA cup, and if you are getting beat you can just pile all your men forward and not worry about leaking goals.
"It is purely about what happens on the day - it is going to be a big game - but we are confident.
"There were a few tough teams in there who I think we were all hoping to avoid like Man U, Arsenal, and Chelsea, so we have managed to do that.
"I think everyone seemed quite happy with the draw; you obviously have to beat the best if you are going to win it but if possible it is good to try and avoid the top three which we have managed to do.
"On our day, from what I have seen, the boys are good enough to beat anyone."
In any event, Andy Melville, also on loan from Fulham, is ineligible, and Jon says:
"Andy is disappointed he can't play in the cup; he has only played 45 minutes but it is enough to cup tie you."
