Don was one of eight players unavailable through injury at the weekend, and Alan says:
"He has had an operation and it has gone well, and, being one of the few people that has won an FA cup medal he will be eager to get himself back to fitness as soon as possible.
"It was the correction of a cartilage and hopefully he won't be out for too long."
As for Tomas Repka, whose absence meant Hayden Mullins coming in at centre half at Wolves, Alan says:
"He still has a fever and he didn't train on Monday which is a real shame because he was really playing well for us and I know he was very disappointed.
"He wanted to travel at one point, which is typical of the guy, but he obviously wasn't going to be well enough."
Alan wants to have as many selection options as possible for the visit of Rotherham, and he adds:
"They have given me some tough games in the past - I have gone through the divisions with Ronnie Moore.
"There will be a few available who were cuptied on Sunday and when Jermain comes back the week after it will be even a tougher decision.
"I'd like to think if we can get a couple of results at home we can be a real threat; the home form has been a bit patchy for two or three years - we keep starting a run and having a knockback - but I think once we get a couple of results we will really kick on.
"We have got a few players who can play in Premiership, there is no doubt about that, but we have been a bit fragile at times."
