Tomas missed the Fulham game through illness, while Christian Dailly was a concern after needing stitches in his head following a clash of heads in that match.
"Tomas is in the squad and available; he has had swollen glands and was on antibiotics," says John Green.
"He has had swollen glands and when Ges Steinbergs saw him it was felt that his fever was too high the other night.
"His throat was better but he said he felt really 'wasted' so we said to let it go so that hopefully he would be fit for this weekend.
"There is no mystery problem or anything; it is just that he felt rough, his children had been ill, and we think he has picked it up from them."
As for Christian playing with stitches in his forehead, John explains:
"We were going to put a patch on it but he didn't want anything on there.
"It is a bit different to Tomas because Christian has got so much hair, if I put an underwrap to hold his bandage in place then tape over it it will just slide off his hair because he has got nothing to grip onto.
"I can't put sticky tape around his hair or it will pull it all out, and he is not prepared to shave his head!
"He said 'leave it, I will just whack some Vaseline on and play anyway.
"He has 14 stitches and it was a nasty flap of skin - it was not a clean line but jagged.
"We think he will be okay; the main concerns is that if he gets a whack to it and it bleeds it will be difficult to put stitches in it.
"He has trained, though, and headed the ball, and from a medical view we are okay with it."
As for Don Hutchison's progress, John says:
"He has done quite well, he is running without problems and on Monday it will be six weeks since the operation; he is on schedule and will start football training next week before perhaps getting a reserve game in the next couple of weeks."
And of Rufus Brevett, he adds:
"Rufus is doing some dry land running and we are looking at him getting a reserve game in mid-April."
Alan Pardew has seven more players to choose from than he did on Tuesday night, due to FA cup ineligibility.
