Sebastien On Target As Reserves Win

Sebastien Carole scored as West Ham reserves beat Ipswich Town reserves 1-0 on Wednesday evening.

Reporting on the match, midfielder Rob Lee's considered opinion is:

"Wayne Quinn was man of the match - he was on fire. It was a good win and we played some good football."

Sebastien Carole scored West Ham's winner 11 minutes from time, converting from Jobi McAnuff's cross.

"It was a very good team performance," says Roger Cross.

"And, as opposed to Nuneaton last week, this was a good surface at Portman Road.

"Rob Lee and Steve Lomas are getting very close to being there, and it is good to see Sebastien off the mark, even if it was only the reserves.

"Jobi McAnuff and Adam Nowland put in good performances, while Anton Ferdinand and Phil Lumsden did well at the back.

"Don't forget, they had Counago who scored two against us in the first team this season, and we handled him well."

On loan striker Neil Mellor dropped out with tonsilitis.
