Match Report - Coventry City Reserves V West Ham Reserves - 10 Feb 2004

West Ham reserves drew 1-1 with Coventry on Tuesday evening - with Neil Mellor grabbing the goal.

"Sebastien Carole cut inside from the left wing to have a shot with his right foot and Neil put the rebound in after two minutes or so," says Roger Cross.

"They got a late equaliser with the left winger, McSheffrey, cutting inside Phil Lumsden, and drilling one in at the near post.

"It was a decent game on a very, very, bumpy pitch, and conditions were awful - really poor.

"But the boys kept trying to play, worked really hard, and we were always a problem with shots on target.

"It was a good all round team effort, I thought, although they became strong in the last 15 minutes."

Sebastien Carole played his second reserve game since coming in from Monaco on loan and could come into the reckoning for Fulham in the FA cup on Saturday with so many players ineligible.

"Sebastien did well and the more he plays the better he will get," says Roger.

Steve Lomas and Rob Lee both got through another 90 minutes to continue their rehabilitation while various other senior players were also involved.

David Forde was a late replacement for Rami Shaaban who had a hamstring problem from the previous day's training.

TEAM: Forde, Lumsden, Tattam [Cohen 71], Lomas, Melville, Blewitt, McAnuff, Lee, Mellor, Nowland, Carole.
