Reserves Defeated

West Ham's reserves were beaten 2-0 by Spurs on Tuesday evening, but Kevin Keen, who took the team on the night, says there were positives to be drawn from the game.

"We started well," he says, "and there were a couple of early opportunities to score with Youssef Sofiane who had an acutely angled shot saved, and then from the corner Tommy Laws should, perhaps, have scored.

"The first 20 minutes were even until Michael Carrick scored with a low shot from the edge of the box.

"We still played some good stuff before half time but we were on the back foot a bit.

"After the break we were doing quite well but they scored 10 minutes from time.

"They were quite a bit more experienced than us and they had a bit of quality which undid us on occasions, but we showed a lot of effort and enthusiasm.

"Jimmy Walker made a couple of good saves and Trent McClenahan did quite well against Rohan Ricketts."

SQUAD: Walker, McClenahan, Blewitt, Laws, Ward, Wright, Lomas, Noble, Bunce [Brady 86'], Sofiane [Allen 67'], Ashikodi [Yao 67'].
