Elliot was ruled out of last season after needing a back operation and Peter Grant says:
"I think he is on the bench for Peterborough at the weekend and the situation is that his match fitness, with him having been out for a year, needed to be improved, and that is why we sent him to Peterborough because we thought it was going to be important for him."
It is a timely return for the teenager with West Ham having injuries to Andy Melville and Christian Dailly, and Peter says:
"Elliot is due back at the start of the week; you can't bring him back before then.
"He has not played as many games as we would have liked but unfortunately with these month loans you can't bring them back unless they are a goalkeeper.
"Ideally we would like to bring someone in but we understand that might not be possible and we have no qualms about that."
