West Ham United's Youth Academy Under-18s beat QPR 3-2 on Wednesday - with triallist Moses Ashikodi scoring two goals and earning himself a contract.
The former Millwall player impressed and Tony Carr says:
"Moses played well in the reserves at Thurrock on Monday night. He is a very young lad, just turned 17, and we are going to give him the opportunity to further his career here.
"Everyone deserves a second chance, we have given him that and hope he grabs it with both hands.
"He has been no problem at all in terms of training and discipline.
"It is early days yet but he has done enough to show us he was worth a deal.
"Moses is in the same age bracket as Mark Noble and Chris Cohen - and if he follows their example he won't go far wrong."
Of the game overall, Tony says:
"We defended well although we conceded both goals from corners, one late in each half. That is something we need to address and make sure doesn't happen on a regular basis.
"But, other than that, I thought it was a lot better performance than against Colchester.
"It was very hot and difficult conditions for both teams but we got through it."
