Match Report - Purfleet V West Ham United - 02 Aug 2004

Sergei Rebrov played 45 minutes on Monday evening as a West Ham XI drew 1-1 with Thurrock.

But it was his half time replacement, Ollie Allen, who grabbed West Ham's goal.

Says Tony Carr:

"Sergei looked sharp in the 45 minutes he played and got what he said he needed - match practice.

"He played wide on the right and came close to scoring on a couple of occasions."

Moses Asikodi, a 17 year old who has been released by Millwall, got a full game and Tony adds:

"We will have a look at him for a week and see how he does."

Tony has high hopes for Greg Pearson, who also played, and he says:

"He has got a great opportunity because the squad is not huge.

"He got 10 or 12 minutes against Anderlecht on Saturday, a little taster, and he has a chance."
