The new access card - A smarter way to gain entry.
Season ticket holders entering the Bobby Moore stand lower tier before Tuesday night's fixture v Reading will for the first time be using the new access cards. As you are aware these have been introduced for the new season for this area of the stadium only and replace the traditional voucher book.
The new cards are proven to permit quicker entry and below we have given a brief explanation of how quick and simple the card is to use.
From the outside the turnstiles will look identical to before. The access card readers are located inside the turnstile. Please ensure you have your card ready before entering the turnstile so that you can present your card to the reader as soon as you enter. Doing so will help avoid delays and allow those behind you to enter as quickly as possible. ;Once inside the turnstile please place your card at the reader - no swiping is required and the card need only be briefly held against the panel.Once your card has been accepted a green light will appear on the reader and you will hear a loud beep, signifying a successful transmission and release of the turnstile. At this point you should push the turnstile to enter the stand. The light display will enable stewards inside the stadium to determine the type of ticket holder entering the stadium. For example, a yellow light will denote a concessionary season ticket holder.
Since the cards have been issued we have reviewed our procedures and cardholders will now be able to gain entry via any of the Bobby Moore lower tier turnstiles and not just those shown on your card. Again the emphasis is on making your visit as straightforward as possible.
Statistics prove that for midweek fixtures the majority of supporters arrive later than for a Saturday fixture. However we would recommend that season ticket holders with access cards should consider arriving earlier than usual for the Reading fixture in order to acquaint themselves with the new system. Experience shows that large numbers of supporters arriving late can cause congestion and delay entry to the stadium.
