Sergei Rebrov is happy to have played his first game in a West Ham United shirt - and says the Anderlecht game was a good test for him.
The 30-year-old Ukraine international played on the right, left, and up front on Saturday as Alan Pardew assessed his abilities in different positions.
And he volunteered to take a penalty, the second of the shootout, which he duly despatched.
"It was a very hard game and difficult with the weather conditions," says Sergei.
"But I think we played well - it was just in the last 15 or 20 minutes when we were so tired and couldn't move normally.
"But we have a week to look at our mistakes, so it is okay.
"I have a week to prepare myself for our opening League game at Leicester City and I was happy with my debut."
