Wayne Quinn has signed for West Ham from Newcastle on a month's
loan.
The tough-tackling left back joined the Magpies from Sheffield United in January 2001, originally on a month's loan before making the deal permanent.
Trevor Brooking revealed earlier in the week that he was looking to bring in either Wayne or team mate Robbie Elliot before Thursday and now he has got his man.
Wayne, 26, has 24 Premiership appearances under his belt.
Says MD Paul Aldridge:
"Trevor Brooking felt we needed a quality left back in the absence of Rufus Brevett before this intense flurry of fixtures coming up.
"We welcome Wayne to the club, and will ensure he settles in as quickly as possible."
