Chelsea's star-studded squad would have included a few more household names - perhaps with an ex-Hammer or two - had it not been international week, but there is still room for the likes of Neil Sullivan and Mario Stanic in the Blues' second string.
It will be, needless to say, a huge test for a young Hammers team which includes just three players - Messrs. Bywater, Ferdinand, and Sofiane - with first team experience.
Included in the side is Chris Cohen, who was in Trevor Brooking's squad that travelled to Ipswich recently, and of whom Trevor says:
"He is a young left back, only 16, and he has done quite well in the preseason with the younger ones and we just thought with the size of our squad we might as well just give him a spell training with the first team squad.
"He travelled with us to Ipswich then had a reserve game and got sent off then, but he was a bit unlucky with two yellow cards.
"But he is a good lad who we do think will do well so why not give him some early experience?"
