Michael: Dig Deep

Michael Carrick says that the players will have to "dig deep" at Coventry after the two hour cup tie at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.

"Saturday is going to be hard to pick ourselves up physically but we are going to have to dig deep," he explains.

He was pleased with the overall performance at Spurs and adds:

"I thought we could have nicked it; Jermain has had a chance and Richie has had a half chance but the defender did well.

"They had a couple of chances themselves, though, and I suppose it was a good game to watch - I totally enjoyed playing in it.

"The overall performance was really good but in extra time it maybe caught up with us after all the games we have had lately.

"But what can you expect - you put all that energy into the game and it is going to be a bit like that.

"It was frustrating because we played well; the lads were saying that is probably the best we have played for a while, and especially against a good team.

"I really enjoyed it, and we want to be playing at places like Tottenham every week so we have to get promoted."
