Match Report - Southampton U17 V West Ham U17 - 25 Oct 2003

Both of West Ham's youth teams earned excellent wins on Saturday - scoring six goals between them.

Kevin Keen's under 17s travelled to table toppers Southampton to earn a 3-2 victory with goals from Liam White with a header, David Shaw in his first appearance of the season after coming back from cruciate ligament damage, and Tony Stokes after a cleverly worked free kick.

Says Kevin "We competed very well and I am proud of the boys"

Tony Carrs under 19s travelled to Ipswich, earning a 3-1 victory via goals from Marce Collington, Mark Noble, a late strike from Greg Pearson.

Says Tony "It is always tough there but the victory was fully deserved.

"We could have won by more if we had converted a higher ratio of chances and if  have one small criticism it is that the finishing could improve."
