Alan's Second Signing

Robbie Stockdale has become Alan Pardew's second signing in two days after completing a month's loan deal from Middlesbrough.

Right back Robbie, who has five Scotland caps and played for Scotland 'B' on Tuesday, has appeared in 75 league, seven FA cup, and nine League cup games for Middlesbrough since breaking through at the club where he started his career.

The Middlesbrough born 23 year old had a spell at Sheffield Wednesday on loan in 2000, where he played six games in a month.

He has played in two games this season, against Leicester and Leeds, but the arrival of Danny Mills on loan from the latter has since seen him out of the Boro side, though he has impressed in the reserves.

With Glen Johnson sold in the summer and Sebastien Schemmel departing early in the season, Tomas Repka has, for the most part, slotted in at right back, though against Nottingham Forest, of course, he reverted to centre half in the absence of the injured Ian Pearce and debutant Hayden Mullins played there.

"We are pleased to welcome Robbie to the club and we trust he will settle in quickly," says MD Paul Aldridge.

Meanwhile, the signing of Hayden Mullins from Crystal Palace, originally rushed through on a loan deal to enable him to make his debut against Nottingham Forest, has become permanent.
