David: Competition's Good

David Connolly welcomes the addition of Marlon Harewood to the squad - and the increased vying for a place up front that will bring.

"He is a good player; I am sure he will be a good signing - it was obviously a long day for him on his debut and it was hard work for him to play.

"Competition is what we need and it is always good to have."

As for the overall situation, he adds:

"We are not losing games and we are very hard to beat but we are finding it difficult to get the wins at the moment; we have just got to keep going and it will turn.

"At the moment things are not going for us; we were 1-0 up and it was a bad goal for us to concede again but we have to keep at it.

"We wanted the three points on Tuesday but they weren't going to be easy to beat and it was always going to be a tough game - they had some good results lately.

"Everyone raises their game against us but we should be good enough to deal with that.

"After we scored it looked like we were going to kick on and get another one; they scrapped and battled but I think we had the majority of the play and it was not good enough for the fans who went all that way.

"Wigan will be another good game against another good side but hopefully we can turn the corner and give the fans a good shout."
