"I think Marlon should be a good addition once he settles in," says Hayden, who, like Marlon, signed on the afternoon of a midweek game on loan to allow him to play before completing a permanent transfer shortly afterwards.
"I know what he has gone through, because obviously going straight in and playing is not the best preparation for him, but he was probably eager to play.
"I have played against him and he is a big strong boy; he could be a very good target for us.
"We have the two big guys now and the two little ones and that is what the gaffer said he wanted to create in there, a lot of competition, and that is what there is.
"I would say to them to be patient and stay behind us; we are as anxious as anyone to get that first win and these things happen.
"The main thin is now not to let it get on top of us as a team or as a group and we have to try stay above it to try and get what we deserve out of these games."
"There is a bit of pressure on us now and we have got to beat Wigan on Saturday, a home game which will put us on the front foot and hopefully we can get our first win there.
"We know we have drawn a lot of games and other people are putting pressure on us there so it can play on your mind.
Looking at his time at the club thus far - and that one defeat against West Brom - he says:
"West Brom was a very strange game; they had about two shots and scored from both of them and it was a weird one.
"Hopefully we have got it all out of our system now and we can kick on.
"We want a win for the club as a whole; you only enjoy it when you are winning.
"We know what we are capable of and we have got a hell of a lot of good players at the club so we should be winning.
"But sometimes these things happen and it is just about character and how you get through it.
"Hopefully we can kick on with a winning streak and forget about this period but the main thing is we are not losing as many as we are drawing."
