"We are looking forward to Wimbledon and there is bags more to come - I think we can take it on another 100% from Saturday's performance to be anywhere near our best.
"It is going to be a big few weeks for us now with Sunderland and West Brom coming up so we need to win a few games to get back in to the top six and then definitely the top three.
"Every team goes through a little blip in the season; we are not losing games and we are still there or thereabouts so once we go on a little run and start winning games again we will get into the top two."
It is the second game without Jermain Defoe, but Michael says:
"That is a blow but Conners came in and did well; we have got the players to accommodate him being out and we need to win at Wimbledon."
The positive from Watford was a clean sheet after conceding four at home to West Brom in the previous game, and Michael adds:
"I think the West Brom game was just one of those freak games; I don't think we are going to concede as many as that in one game for the rest of the season.
"As for Saturday the weather conditions determined how the game was going to be played; in the first half I thought we played well but in the second half they created a couple of chances and kicking against the wind in those conditions does make it very hard - but it is still disappointing we didn't win the game.
"I think with the wind behind them it was difficult for us to play out especially with one end of the pitch really boggy so we couldn't really get it and pass it as much as we did in the first half.
"But there are no excuses - we were still disappointed we did not get the three points."
How can the draws be turned into wins?
"We are trying so there is not a lot I can say; we will go to Wimbledon looking for the win just three days after that last game following a long two weeks before that.
"We can take some positives from Saturday, though; the lads showed good character with a different formation which was put upon us at the last minute."
