Alan: We Must Stay In Touch

Alan Pardew says West Ham cannot afford to lose any more ground on the leaders - and is looking for nothing less than maximum points on Saturday at Watford.

"We can't afford to lose too much ground and this is a big week for us with Watford, Wimbledon, and Wigan - we have to attack all three games with a view to winning them all."

Alan is looking for a clean sheet after conceding four goals - over a quarter of the goals against tally for the season - against West Brom.

"In the first half, even when it was 3-1, we actually played really well in that period - but the events that followed are not what we are about.

"We have to draw on that in the future so it never happens again and I just felt that it was unfortunate that some of our senior players had a bit of an off day when it came to the defensive side of our game.

"That was a bit unusual for them because they have been brilliant all year for us and I expect them to get back in the groove for Saturday."

Watford put an end to Norwich's 100% home record last weekend, and Alan was there to see it first hand.

"We went across on Saturday to watch them at Norwich, they played very well and thoroughly deserved their win, contrary to reports," he insists.

Now he is looking for a reaction from his players after the West Brom defeat and he adds:

"I feel that the boys at the training ground have really responded to my ideas and taken on board the way I want to take the club forward.

"But ultimately you need to enhance it all with a couple of wins, to get ourselves back where we belong - chasing the leading couple of teams."
