Match Report - West Ham U19 V Tottenham Hotspur Under 19 - 15 Nov 2003

The U19s beat Spurs on Saturday while the U17s had to content themselves with a 1-1 draw against Charlton.

Greg Pearson came off the bench to score a penalty in the 78th minute and Tony Carr says:

"Overall we deserved it as we were the better side and created more chances.

"It was a good contest and it means we have won six out of seven now - and it was another clean sheet.

"We rested Blewitt, Pearson for the most part, and Cohen so that made it even more satisfactory.

"Spurs were second and had won five on the trot; it is always nice to beat them at any level and we are only four points behind them.

"It is not an insurmountable gap to the top and we are burying the ghost of a poor start to the season."

The U17s drew 1-1 with Charlton, with Ollie Allen scoring, and Kevin Keen says:

"We showed a good attitude and scored a good goal in the first half but they equalised with 10 minutes to go and we hit the crossbar late on.

"There were no injuries and it was a fair result."

The FA Premier Academy League U19 game against Crystal Palace on Saturday, 22nd November has been switched to Chadwell Heath from Little Heath, kick off 11 o'clock.

West Ham face Huddersfield Town away on Wednesday, 3rd December at the Alfred McAlpine stadium with a 7 o'clock kick off.
