Alan Pardew admits he is disappointed that the red card Jermain
Defoe received on Saturday against West Brom was not at least
downgraded to a yellow card.
Jermain now faces a five match ban and Alan says:
"Sometimes it takes a brave man to change his decision but I honestly believe that decision was wrong; I don't think he caught the player.
"I think the report is that he caught him at the knee which is what he said to Paul Goddard and there is no way in my opinion that he caught the player.
"I am very disappointed that he didn't change it to a yellow."
