From Offending To Employment

From Offending to Employment (F.O.T.E) is funded by the Football Foundation and Association of London Government (A.L.G).

The working programme is delivered by the London Action Trust and West Ham United in the Community.
The project aims is to provide high quality coaching, fitness training, qualifications and social education to young people aged 14 - 25 years involved with the youth justice system, socially excluded or considered to be at risk of offending.

Through this it is hoped that the stimulation of constructive and enjoyable physical activities will lead to clients obtaining F.A recognised qualifications and training through the following: O.C.N (Open College Network), the Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football, (and the Level 2 certificate) which will enhance their prospects of finding suitable training or employment. We have contacted local mainstream schools about working with their Year 11 pupils to hope to obtain the O.C.N qualification.

We have been working in the Redbridge, Newham, Havering, Barking & Dagenham and Tower Hamlet areas. We are currently working in association with Barking College and also in the borough of Newham with the "Year 11 Project" which aims to obtain qualifications for students through the OCN scheme.
