Soccer Six At Upton Park

It's got 320 legs, 160 famous faces - it's the Music Industry Soccer Six and this year's tournament at Upton Park is bigger than ever.

Over 160 'celebrities' will take part at each event, consisting of 12 men's and four women's teams.

For the second year in succession Soccer Six is in association with BT Openworld and BT Retail under the banner of 'Broadband From BT'.

Current champions Westlife stole the crown from Ant & Dec in the men's trophy last year and are back to defend their crown.

Other contestants include Rod Stewart, Blue, Mis-Teeq, Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, Starsailor, Turin Brakes, Cooper Temple Clause, Peter Beardsley, Ian Rush, Matt Le Tissier, Ian Rush, Iron Maiden, Ralf Little, Harvey, Frank McAvennie, Bradley Walsh, Athlete, Turin Breaks, Chris Kamara, alongside many stars from Hollyoaks and Brookside.

A proportion of all proceeds will go to The Prince's Trust, who help 14-30 year olds to achieve their local goals in life, whatever opposition they face.

It is the largest event of its kind in Europe, now in its ninth consecutive year, over 150,000 people have attended since its inception, and over 300 'celebrities' have participated, including George Best, Ant'n'Dec, Westlife, Blue, Liberty X, Atomic Kitten, Mis Teeq, Vinnie Jones, Robbie Williams, Cat Deeley, Rod Stewart, Steps, Simply Red, Jordan, Jamiroquai, Lennox Lewis, Ian Rush, John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, Chris Eubank and stars from Eastenders, Coronation Street.

Shelter, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, and Help a London Child have all benefited from, and supported this event.

The entrance for the suite is via the Dr. Martens Stand; doors open 9.30am, and kick off is at 11am.
