Les Given All-clear

Les Ferdinand has been given the all-clear following checks which have confirmed that he has no lasting damage after the battering he received against Spurs.

"We have had the good news that although the corner of Les' eye is sore he is going to be fit for the Everton game, which is excellent," says Glenn Roeder.

"We don't believe that there is any fracture there, it is just a severe blow on the side of the eye socket."

Glenn is full of praise for his bravery in battle, however, and adds: "He epitomises the spirit we need and everyone has responded to the man."

As for Steve Lomas, missing due to a knee problem on Saturday, Glenn says the verdict is equally optimistic.

"Steve is okay, feeling good, it is a slow build-up for him, and I expect him back into full time training next Monday for a full week's training," says Glenn.

"And with Lee Bowyer being suspended for the Everton game he is the obvious one to come in."

He says the mood in the camp has been enhanced greatly by the two back to back wins - but warns that they must be built on at Everton in the next match.

"We have always had belief in ourselves, but there is no doubt about it - results breed confidence, rather than confidence breeding results," insists Glenn.

"We really must grab this opportunity of getting the two wins to push on from now."
