His message is: "Unless it comes from me don't believe the rumours that are written every day in the tabloids - if I am not saying it, don't believe it.
"I am officially saying that just at this particular time there has been interest in a number of our players but there have been no developments.
"That is the truth and what our supporters need to know.
"I am not surprised about the interest because we have lots of talented players, but there have been no developments."
Neither does he anticipate any in the near future, and he adds: "At this time of year a lot of managers, chief executives, chairmen, and managing directors are taking their summer vacation.
"I don't see things picking up until July onwards right until the transfer window closes in the Premiership at the end of August.
"That is where we stand at the moment; it is basically 'watch this space' and I don't think anything will be happening for the next few weeks."
As for the current economic state in football, he adds: "I think that the transfer market, in terms of money paid for players, is evolving now in a way that is completely different to two, three, four, five years ago.
"There are not the vast sums of money around and everyone is tightening their belts; transfer fees, accordingly, have been coming down.
"But there is still, even in a market that is trading down, a correct price and a price that is unacceptable.
"And that is for myself, working with other people at the club, to gauge right.
"It is important that when we do sell a player we get a price that is acceptable - I am very confident there will be no player leaving here on the cheap."
