Understandably trying to remain circumspect about the two major controversies of the game - Steve Lomas' sending off and Dennis Bergkamp's apparent push on Lee Bowyer for the second goal - he says: "There were disappointing decisions and it was disappointing all round - I don't want to comment on the referee but we held on, and we were fighting hard for what would have been a great point.
"Let's talk about the way we played and the things we can improve on as a team - anything else is not in our control.
"We can take things away from the Arsenal game because there were a lot of strong performances from the lads.
"Lady Luck wasn't on our side and going down to 10 men after 10 minutes made it a grind - it just broke us down in the end.
"They have got world class players, but there were lots of plus points and lots of fight - which is good."
Next up is another London derby away from home, at Charlton on Wednesday night, and captain Joe adds: "Wednesday night is a must-win game and of course we can get off the bottom.
"We are not worried - we are ready to fight on and hopefully pick up points over the next few weeks.
"We have to kick on to the next game and stay positive."
