"There is no news but we hope there will be some in the next seven days - it might be sooner than a week, it might be in the next few days," he says.
"But we have got to keep that under wraps until we can be confident that we have got the couple of players we are after.
"I don't know what other clubs are doing but I would like to think that we will have two new faces within the next seven days that will give the whole squad a lift, and if we can possibly get that third player before the window closes at the end of January we will do so."
Meanwhile, tickets for the postponed New Year's Day fixture against Charlton Athletic remain valid for the re-arranged date, even if they have had the stub removed.
Approximately 400 supporters entered the stadium prior to the postponement of the game but Charlton Athletic have informed us the club that, as these will also remain valid, and it will not be necessary for supporters to apply for a new ticket.
Anyone unable to attend the new date, when it is announced, should return their ticket to the West Ham United ticket office no later then 48 hours before the new date of the game to obtain a refund.
