Izzie, whose one year deal expires in the summer, has already been to the club and he says:
"It was not a trial, I was meant to be signing on loan, but unfortunately I had a problem with my hamstring so I had to come back for treatment.
"As soon as I sort that out I will be heading off back there; I will just give it two weeks rest - I want to get the experience and the time out will go quickly."
Centre half Izzie was handed the contract after recovering from a serious knee operation, and has admitted in the past that he thought his career was coming to an end because of the problems he had.
But the contract extension was a lifeline, and he then went on to play for Leyton Orient on loan earlier this campaign.
Is he now resigned, though, to leaving West Ham?
"It looks that way because I am not really getting a chance," he admits.
"I don't want to leave the club but maybe the manager doesn't fancy me.
"I grew up at Upton Park and have always been here - I would like to play for West Ham.
"I suppose I probably will have to move on, but we will just have to see how things go; I am just taking it day by day..."
