That is the view of Roger Cross, who says:
"If he does things like he did today on a regular basis, striking an unstoppable shot, he has got every chance.
"He is doing fine - he proved today that he can score a goal.
"I have been getting on to him for some time about getting his shots away because he has a good shot.
"He is too unselfish at times, he wants to try and play someone in all the time when he should be shooting himself, and he scored a terrific goal from 25 yards."
With the reserves not having a league fixture, Roger explains:
"It was just a friendly; both teams were looking for a game, and that is it - it is was a worthwhile exercise."
As for first team matters, Roger insists that the draws West Ham have been getting away of late are fine - as long as the side wins at home.
"Not getting beaten is good in a way; I think away draws are more than acceptable, I don't care who it is against, even if it is a bottom of the league side.
"But I think we have to win the vast majority of our home games if we are going to get promoted."
That said, a win at the Hawthorns on Saturday would compensate to some degree for the only home defeat of the season, and Roger adds:
"It was a crazy game at home to West Brom but we have every chance to make amends at the weekend."
