Christian Can Cope

Christian Dailly says he has never contemplated retiring from international football in order to prolong a domestic career.

Christian, who, like Don Hutchison is on Scotland duty for the friendly against Norway in Oslo on Wednesday, faces a gruelling 46 game season in the first division, not to mention cup games and the dozen or so Scotland fixtures in this European championship season.

"It is a lot of games, I know that, but it is not something I even think about; I love playing for Scotland, as I do for West Ham, and you just give it everything you have got in all the games," he says.

"We have the game this week then the two qualifiers coming up so every free week there is a match, but I pride myself on looking after myself and being fit so I should be able to cope with it - bring it on!"

Don't forget, you can see Jermain Defoe in action on Tuesday at Upton Park when England U21s take on Croatia at 8 o'clock.

The Carling Cup second round tie on Tuesday, September 23rd, is now, like the league game there the following month, on Sky.
