Since returning from suspension two games ago, Fredi has been unable to dislodge Les Ferdinand from the first 11, but he insists: "I had to wait. He told me what he wanted to do before the game so I knew that I was going to get on, I was prepared for that, and it was all right.
"Maybe I will have my chance in the next game - I hope I am going to start soon and I am looking forward to playing a full game and scoring a goal.
"We are always disappointed not to start but at the moment it is a team thing and I will do whatever he wants.
"I have a lot of respect for Les who has done a good job since he has been here and been in the side a lot.
"Sometimes it is normal that you can't get your place back as soon as you return, sometimes you have to wait a little bit and that is what I am doing."
Of the overall performance, he says: "It was good but it was very hard because of the heat. In the second half we did a very good job and fought - and we deserved the late goal.
"We wanted to win on Saturday and we certainly didn't come for a draw, but a point wasn't bad after the way we started the game, and we are happy we came back to get a point."
Other teams around the Hammers also won at the weekend, but Fredi adds: "It is hard but at the moment we are just focused on our performances and trying to win every single game we play."
As for this coming Saturday's fixture, he says: "At home we have had great results at the moment and I think we have to keep going like this - we must win games like Aston Villa.
"It is not that they are a bad team, but after the last home game we have the confidence and we have to keep on."
