Although a Sunday newspaper claimed in an 'exclusive' that he had said he wouldn't quit, Glenn says:
"They were old quotes attributed to him after the World Cup not ones since the Macedonia game.
"Until David comes out with a new statement I am maintaining the stance that I am not really passing comment other than to say if David did decide to retire I think David James certainly deserves to be given the first opportunity to stake a place as England's number one.
"If he is given that opportunity I would think he would take it."
"I know David Seaman personally from the work place; I have got an awful lot of respect for him, and he has had a brilliant England career as well as a club one."
Meanwhile, Don Hutchison's set back in a reserve team friendly at QPR when he had to come after half an hour has proven not to be too serious, and it is hoped he can pick up where he left off soon.
"It is a major operation he is coming back from and we have to work hard on his fitness to get him up to speed," says Glenn.
"The sooner he can come and join the first team squad and get in the fold the better for him - and us.
