I think that the result was great as we completely took Man Utd
apart in the second half. There is one man I am so happy and
pleased about and that is David James. If it wasn't for him we
would have lost and I think that stop in the last
minute is going to have to go down as save of the season.
All I can say is thank God for David James and well done lads!
Matt Barritt, Dagenham
I think West Ham were unlucky. I went to the game
and I think that we deserved to beat Manchester United.
Defoe was outstanding but even better than that, I am
happy to see that Michael Carrick is back at his best - what a
class player. Plus finally I must say give Glenn a chance. He
worked wonders last season and he is doing his best now. Who else
can he play to do a better job than the players that are starting
now?
Chris Moody, London
I believe we are starting to show what we are really made of, and
if we can carry on playing this way before long we could be up in
the top half. The worrying thing is that if we get any more
injuries, or players start to tire from playing at such an electric
pace then I can't see us progressing at all.

How can anyone really complain about Sunday? The way we've been
playing this season a draw against any team is a good enough
result. Man Utd aren't quite the quality they were two
or three seasons ago and it's been proven this season that
they are beatable. We could've beaten them on Sunday, we
deserved the point thoroughly though. If only Paolo would perform
in every game, he's so good a getting the team going.
And I think Mickey Carrick played really well, his confidence
is slowly returning. And Defoe, well done son. But he really does
need a rest. We need to pick up something on saturday at Villa. Let
the confidence roll back in and let us move up the table.

Hopefully after that major hiccup at the start of the season, we
can get back to playing good football. The Leeds game was a low
point, but the team and Roeder seem to be showing quite a spirit
and playing better. We controlled much of the match, and even
though Manchester United are playing badly at the moment, it can
only boost confidence.

I thought the game against Man U was typical of how West Ham were playing last season. Full of confidence and unlucky not to win. More of this from now on please! I think the players realise that they are not unbeatable at home anymore and have raised their game accordingly having overcome some over-enthusiastic stick from the crowd each week. What they and Glenn Roeder have to realise is that in these days of fast technology and wanting everything yesterday, plus good performances and efficiency bonuses, etc, us working folk have come to expect the same from the very overpaid players.
Dan Wright, Gillingham
I personally think that we had the drop on Man Utd for the most of
the game, our defence was mainly solid apart from one or two slight
blunders and the majority of the midfield and forward play was of
the class we expect from the quality of players we've currently
got. Carrick and Cole could've attempted shots instead of
looking to pass when in the box, but this is a minor criticism on a
good overall performace. Hopefully Defoe's goal will have
broken his duck and he'll be able to put a few more away now.
It seems that the form that was seen in the second half against
Leeds was carried through into this match and if we can maintain
that run until the end of the season, we should be in good stead.
However, we have had one good run of three unbeaten away games this
season that collapsed on our first game back home, let's see if
we can avoid this happening again.

Why can't we play like that every week? What a great game. I
think the team have had problems even stringing a few passes
together in recent games but it seemed to all come together Sunday
and if we can continue with that passion when Fredi returns,
we'll be out of trouble very soon. The best part, I had to
watch it in a pub full of Man Utd fans.
Ashley Hughes, Derby
I believe it was a fair result, the team played very well apart
from a few hiccups. David James was the main man for me, he pulled
off three fantastic saves, proving a point to Sven Goran Eriksson.
The youngsters had equally good games. Overall Glenn Roeder is a
great manager with a great bunch of young, talented players.
I can see West Ham's season picking up now and mabye even
a top six finish.
Toby Cudworth, Reading
I think our performance on Sunday was terrific and I think we
deserved all three points. However, it wasn't to be. Jermain
played out of his skin and it merited the man of the match award.
Also a special mention to David James for a magnificent double save
at the death. I am confident this can be the first step to a
recovery and believe that morale will have been boosted, which will
hopefully produce the results the Hammers so badly need in the near
future.
Anthony McKeown, Dublin
I think it was a great game on Sunday, the players worked hard and
played with no fear. If we play like this from now on we
will get the results we deserve.
Andy Marriott, Basildon
I thought we showed a lot more passion and commitment than in
recent home games. The second half against Leeds set the tone for
this match. I don't think we looked as pretty as we do
sometimes, but we kept coming forward. With their goal being
offside and us being denied a penalty and having one ruled out in
the first half and with Joe hitting the post and Jermain hitting
the bar I thought in the end that we should have won! Let's
hope we can keep up the revival. 135 minutes played, 4 scored and
only 1 conceded!
Alan Walsh, Dublin
I think the Hammers fortune have to change. It has to be said that
there hasn't been much luck to speak of but you do make your
own luck and some of the defending this season has been very very
bad. If the defence get their act together and Glenn gets
some consistent performers in the back-line, the team will go on an
unbeaten run right to the top half of the
table.
