West Ham are confident that the £750,000 sale of Svetoslav
Todorov to Portsmouth will go through within a week.
Although reports claim that a work permit application has been rejected, the situation is not quite so clear cut.
Toddy fell just below the automatic criterion of having to play 75% of games for his country in the last two years and that has meant a slight delay in the paperwork being completed.
But MD Paul Aldridge explains: "Toddy has, on occasion, been injured when he would have played for Bulgaria and so there wouldn't have been a problem as he would have met the minimum limit.
"The situation now is that there will be a decision on Monday and if it is not favourable, it will go to an appeals panel on Thursday.
"Either way, both Portsmouth and ourselves are confident of a successful outcome to the transfer in due course."
