John Moncur is "touch and go" to return to action midweek against Everton.
John missed Saturday's defeat at Aston Villa with a knee problem and physio Simon Webster says: "He is progressing okay but whether he will make it for Wednesday is touch and go at the moment."
But there is some good news: Fredi Kanoute was back in training on Monday after missing the defeat through illness.
"His problem was medical, rather than an injury, and he is in contention for Wednesday," said Simon.
Steve Lomas is still coming back from his knee injury sustained against Middlesbrough and Simon adds: "He is fine and doing okay and is half-way down the line to coming back; I would give it another seven to ten days, or 14 at the outside."
Meanwhile, Don Hutchison, who also has a knee injury, will fly to Canada later in the week for an operation that will hopefully see him playing again after half a year.
As for the other injuries, Simons says: "Gary Charles missed the last reserve game because of a swelling on his knee, and we didn't want him to do too much.
"Omer Riza has had a slight hamstring injury, but he will be back training in a couple of days, as will Shaun Byrne, who has had a slight groin problem."
