Says ticket office boss Steve Kitcher:
"The renewal rate has been excellent - certainly the best since I have been here.
"Also, the demand from new applicants has been very high.
"We finished last season with approximately 17,500 season ticket holders, including those that purchased half yearly tickets from Christmas.
"At the current rate of sales we can expect to start 2002/2003 with close to 20,000 season ticket holders."
Explaining the phenomenal demand, he adds:
"Its' hard to put it down to one specific factor, but we finished the season on a higher note than many of the 'experts' predicted.
"Yes, we stumbled a few times but we always managed to brush ourselves down and go forward.
"There is a really optimistic feeling around the ground now, which is great, and the price freeze has been very well received.
"We are pleased with the continuing increase in the number of children and families, and our under 16s season ticket is once more the cheapest Premiership ticket in London.
"By the close of office hours today we will have processed all the seat changes and allocated the additional seat requests and the new applications.
"This has taken some time due to the sheer volume of fans asking to move.
"On Saturday, 22nd June, season ticket holders that requested a move and the new applicants we received in advance, are able to visit the ground to view their new position.
"Many will have received their new book by now, but should this not be the case a query at the ticket office will get the information of the new position.
"Season tickets will then go on general sale from Monday the 24th June."
Looking forward to the start of the new season, Steve adds:
"We are unable to confirm exact details for the Newcastle away fixture, as they have yet to confirm their match ticket prices to us.
"The largest allocation we can take is 3,000, but because we have to commit to a non-returnable allocation beforehand, it is likely that in order to give as many fans as possible the chance to travel, we will ask all applications to be received by a set date.
"This way, the number of applications received will decide the final allocation - and I am sure Glenn and the lads would appreciate as many fans as possible."
