Christian Dailly insists that the heat and humidity when England play Brazil in the afternoon on Friday will not be a deciding factor in the game.
Christian, who captained Scotland in South Korea in a friendly ahead of the World Cup, says that the players will be more than used to the temperature having spent so long away.
The Scots moved on to Hong Kong after playing South Korea, and Christian says that, from his experience, the climate in that part of the world will not have an adverse experience on performance.
"I don't think it should be an issue now as they should be acclimatised; when we finished the Hong Kong leg of our trip, having played two games in the afternoon over there, to be honest, by that time you were used to the heat," he explains.
"All right, it is a bit sapping but you your body does acclimatise; playing the day after we got there was like whoosh!
"There was the heat and the jet lag, but England are over that now - I don't see it being any problem at all.
"South Korea was our first game but we had only got over there the day before and it came a bit quick for us with the team we had.
"It was still a great experience and I was honoured to captain my country; it was a thrill."
Scotland lost 4-1 to South Korea, and Christian says, following the co-hosts' win over Italy to reach the quarter finals of the World Cup:
"I am not surprised in the slightest by how well they have done, and having seen the level they played at I'd have hated to think they were one of the worst teams in the competition.
"That would have been a bit demoralising for Scotland, but in the end they have played the way they did against us in the whole tournament, and I think they have only lost once in about the last 12 or 15 games - which was against France.
"They have played like a club side in the last six months and it really shows in the fitness, strength, power and pace that they have got, not to mention their skill.
"They close down so well as well as attacking effectively, and they are a good side."
Meanwhile, Christian promises not to wear a Brazil shirt while watching England play them on Friday, and says:
"I am supporting the West Ham lads, definitely; it is great to see Trevor doing so well.
"I am really pleased about it; he deserves it, and I got a little dismayed sometimes when I saw some of the press coverage he got with them saying they weren't sure if he should be in the squad.
"Everyone at West Ham was thinking why is he not on that left hand side playing for England anyway; he is absolutely made for that team.
"All he needed was a couple of games back to back just to get involved and part of the side, which he obviously does now.
"He is a great lad with a great attitude - and I am really pleased for him.
"He is never short on confidence, he just needed to play games; it is very difficult to play an international game, come on for the second half or just play some of it, and set the world on fire.
"And what people don't realise about Trevor away from West Ham is how much work he puts in; defensively for the team he is so strong.
"He is up and down that park, whereas a lot of players who have all the flashy skills do it all up the park and don't get back.
"He is one of those that does a bit of everything and is great to have in any team.
"He has done brilliantly and it is good that Joe Cole and David James have got in the squad as well - it is fantastic for them, and hopefully they will have a part to play in the tournament as well."
And he is full of praise for the performances of Rio Ferdinand - the man he was effectively bought to replace - thus far, adding:
"He is doing brilliantly."
Christian taking over the captaincy of Scotland, is, ironically, due to the long term injury to Don Hutchison, and Christian adds:
"I can't wait for Don to get back; we need everyone we can get for Scotland - though there are four or five good young lads coming through now."
