Slovakian international Vladimir Labant has completed his move to Upton Park for a fee of £900,000.
The final results of his medical came through on Friday morning confirming the all clear and Vladimir - who has been handed the number five shirt - will go into the squad to face Leicester City this weekend.
Whether he makes it onto the bench, however, remains to be seen as he has not played since early December when Sparta Prague began their mid-winter break.
Says MD Paul Aldridge: "We are delighted to welcome Vladimir to the club and we will be doing everything to make sure he settles in quickly.
"As part of the transfer agreement, we have committed ourselves to playing a friendly against Sparta Prague at Upton Park this summer.
"This will take place a week before the season starts, subject to the European commitments of both clubs."
Assistant boss Paul Goddard adds: "There have been a lot of conversations about him. Glenn has seen him a few times, as our scouts have, and he is someone that has been on our minds for a while."
