The defeat on January 1st against Leeds put paid to a six match unbeaten run before the return to winning ways in the FA Cup on Sunday, and David says:
"Let's put things in perspective; as disappointed as I was and we were with the performance at Leeds, to call it a hiccup is a good reflection on what we'd done in the previous six games.
"If you are going to lose, lose to a top side, and we've done well against Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool recently.
"Now we have got an opportunity to push on in the league as well if we get back to our consistent form against Leicester."
Of the game at Moss Rose, he says:
"It was job done, as they say; we got what we expected and for the first half an hour or so they gave us a good game.
"Their adrenalin was rushing higher or faster or however adrenalin runs and we weathered the storm; they caused a few problems in the air but J gave us a great platform with his goal.
"In the lower divisions the style of football is always going to be difficult and Macclesfield initially performed very well, so we had to be on our toes and alive."
David sported a new hairstyle for that game - blond plaits that took three hours to weave.
He admits:
"The plaits are falling out but it keeps it under control because the afro was getting a bit wild!"
