Svetoslav Todorov admits he will be sad to leave Upton Park.
Toddy is waiting for the paperwork to be completed on a move to Portsmouth, and explains:
"I am waiting for my work permit to be ready; it takes time, but I don't think it will be a problem.
"But I must play, and I needed to get the move so I could get games; it was important for me.
"I don't know how different the Premiership is from the first division, but the thing is, if I am playing regularly I can hopefully get back in the Bulgaria side.
"The national coach has said he would not take players not playing for their first teams."
Looking back on his time in east London since his move from Liteks Lovech in his homeland, he says:
"When I am on the pitch I give everything because West Ham is a great club with great supporters.
"I will miss the club of course, but I don't have the words in English to express it; I have many friends at West Ham and I had no problems with anybody."
Toddy says that he has turned down the chance to return to Bulgaria and adds:
"I like England and wanted to stay here; I had offers to go back home but I was not interested because I don't want to leave."
When he does complete his transfer to the coast, he will be reunited with the man who brought him to England, Harry Redknapp.
"Harry is technical director not the manager at Portsmouth, but I haven't spoken to him yet," he says.
