Winterburn Woe

Nigel Winterburn insists that the simple statistic of a 3-2 defeat against Chelsea doesn't tell the whole story.

"We let in some bad goals and I think that disguises the performance," he says.

"We certainly matched them, and if you look at the players they have got we really went at them and had a go.

"It could have gone either way and it is just disappointing.

"It did look like it was going to go to extra time but these things happen and the most important thing now is Saturday at Bolton.

"We have to forget about it or we will lose again on Saturday, so we have to pick ourselves up."

Nigel is already looking to put the cup exit behind him, and adds: "We are playing teams now that are around us or below us so if we take enough points we will put ourselves in a safe position and also up the league.

"If we sort out the away form we can get up the table."
