Hughes Hoping

Glenn Roeder will keep a close eye on the performance of triallist Stephen Hughes when the reserves take on Fulham on Tuesday evening.

As the next reserve team game after that is not until January 8th, it is a big game for the former Arsenal, Everton, and Watford midfielder.

"He has been released by Watford, he has done a day's training with us, and we are going to play him in the reserves," confirms Roger Cross.

"We will keep an eye on him in training as well."

Also playing in the game is Kevin Keen, but Roger explains it is just a temporary measure.

"He has had come in to because we are short of players," he says.

"It is just because we can't afford to risk what few seniors we have.

"So we are right down to the young lads, and a number of them are injured, so Kevin is giving a hand.

"He has got vast experience, not only at this football club, but at others, and we are looking forward to him helping the youngsters.

"But we are not sure how long he is going to last!"
