Fredi Fit Soon

Glenn Roeder hopes that Fredi Kanoute, who misses the trip to Old Trafford this weekend, will return in time for the Bolton game.

"Fredi feels that he doesn't feel confident about certain football movements after having had fluid removed from the groin area," says Glenn.

"But at least he has had that fluid removed, and I think he feels a whole lot better for it; he is out running hard.

"He is physically fit in terms of the running we need to get into him, and we just need to get the required amount of football.

"Hopefully that will put him in line from Monday or Tuesday onwards and ready for a return against Bolton.

"There is optimism that Eduoard Cisse will be able to play this weekend against Manchester United, and Glenn adds:

"Eduoard came off with a hamstring problem and we know we caught him in time before it became a bad one.

"Steve Lomas is still a doubt for Saturday which leaves us very, very, short in midfield, basically with only three midfield players in Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, and Trevor Sinclair.

"We have not given up on complete hope on Eduoard, Steve Lomas, or at least one of the two being fit, but we will just have to wait and see."
