Trevor Sinclair has been called up for the full England squad to
face Greece on 6th October - but Michael Carrick is in the U21s.
Glenn Roeder has said many times this season that he felt Trevor would get his chance, and despite the 5-0 defeat by Everton on Saturday, that chance has come.
Trevor himself has yet again been the subject of speculation linking him with Sunderland at the weekend, but he has said time and time again he is happy at the club that has now helped him get full recognition once more.
David Platt explained that "Sven thought it was better" for Michael to "get a game in" for the U21s as he did not have much full international experience.
Thankfully, that did not stop him selecting Trevor!
It is the first time, incidentally, that Michael has been left out of the full squad by Eriksson, who also omits former Hammers' midfielder Frank Lampard.
Injured Joe Cole and Jermain Defoe miss out on the U21 squad, as does Steve Bywater.
