Repka Misses Out

Rather than celebrate his man of the match performance on Sunday, Tomas Repka was too busy apologising that he can't play at Everton this weekend!
Tomas received two harsh yellow cards and therefore a sending off on his debut at Middlesbrough which means he is suspended for the clash at Goodison Park this Saturday.
It is that, rather than basking in the glory of his champagne winning display against Newcastle, that is on Tomas' mind, and he says:
"I am sorry for the fans and the club, but it has happened."
But he insists that he would like to lend his vocal support to the cause and adds:
"If Glenn wants me to go I would definitely like to go and support the lads."
When pressed, he says of his home debut:
"I am very happy, but it wasn't me at my best and I think I can play even better next time.
"The atmosphere was fantastic and I wasn't surprised by the win.
"We did everything that Glenn told us - and everyone worked very hard."
Tony Cottee was effusive with his praise for Tomas as he shared analysis duties with former strike partner Frank McAvennie for Sky TV, and said he handled Alan Shearer superbly.
"He is very strong and a really good player," says Tomas.
The Czech international is learning English, but can communicate to his colleagues via goalkeeping coach Ludek Miklosko, or directly to some of the staff in Italian.
"I talk to Paolo, Songy, and the doctor in Italian.
"Paolo congratulated me after the game and said I played very well, and was happy that we won."
* Other players sent off on their West Ham debuts include Dutchmen Jeroen Boere, while Tony Cottee was sent off on his 'second' Hammers' debut.
Marco Boogers was sent off on his second substitute appearance for the club.
